Belief Systems
Belief systems are principles which when put together form religion, politics and one’s moral code. They are a culmination of all of one’s experiences which creates their beliefs. The belief system of a person or a society is what they see as right and wrong, true or false and their opinions. Belief systems are formed by many elements which come together to form the entire system. These elements are values, orientation, language and perspective. They may vary in the impact and importance they have in belief systems. These elements come together to form one’s, or a society's, belief system.
Values
The fundamental beliefs of a person.
What a person holds all their decisions to.
Belief systems are based on ideal values.
Examples of a person’s values are honesty, patriotism, or courage.
Orientation
Examples of orientation are belief systems such as political belief or sociological belief.
One’s orientation is the side which they pick in an argument.
Language
A person’s language also plays an important part in their belief system.
Language dictates the logic behind how a belief system is followed.
Language creates the rules which a person of a belief system would follow.
Perspective
A person’s perspective is where their belief system is situated in their society’s belief system.
One's perspective is dictated by the outside social and economic influences.
